Fundraising for Global Finals

Competing at Global Finals is a tremendous honor and achievement. It also costs quite a bit of money, so teams will be busy fundraising for the next few weeks. Staff of Wicomico County Public Schools can help support Global Finals teams by participating in a countywide casual day for DI on Friday, April 12.

Video auditions will be taken through the end of the day Tuesday, April 2 for Salisbury’s Got Talent, a benefit talent contest sponsored by the North Salisbury Mustache Mustangs and the Salisbury Middle Panicking Penguins. The event will feature community-wide adult and youth performances of various talents. The Best Youth Talent and Best Adult Talent for our area will be named. Now recruiting performers! Performers must email kvail@wcboe.org for guidelines, and must submit a video audition. Tickets are now available for the show, which will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27 in the James M. Bennett Auditorium. Check the eBulletinBoard of the Wicomico Schools’ website for flyer: https://www.wcboe.org/domain/160.

Additional fund-raising events and activities for Globals DI teams will be announced.

DI transcends race, gender, and ethnic boundaries to encourage cooperation and productive problem solving in all children. DI is not so much a program as a process. DI has helped teams learn what we must all learn in life:to work cooperatively in teams; to push the limit of imagination and creativity; and to learn and master new skills and creative problem-solving tools.
