Thursday, Dec. 6

The Bennett Middle 6th and 7th Grade Chorus will present its holiday concert Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Parkside High School Auditorium. Admission is $2 (children 5 and under free of charge); tickets may be purchased at the door. 410-677-5140

The string programs of Salisbury Middle School and Mardela Middle will present their Winter Program on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. in the cafetorium at Salisbury Middle School. They will be kicking off this joyful holiday season with musical selections ranging from Vivaldi to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Pittsville Middle Marching Band will perform in the Town of Pittsville’s Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.

Monday, Dec. 10

The Charles H. Chipman Elementary program will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at Chipman Elementary. Admission free. 410-677-5814

The East Salisbury Elementary Winter Concert will be Monday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. in the school gym. Performing will be and 5th-grade string students, Magi Chorus participants, 3rd-grade music students, and select 4th-grade recorder players. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. 410-677-5803

The North Salisbury Elementary 5th Grade Band and String Orchestra winter concert will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 in the school multipurpose room. The orchestra will play “Up on the Housetop”, “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas”, and several other holiday favorites. The band will play a “Folk Song Sing Along” and some traditional December favorites. Pinehurst Elementary’s chorus, continuing orchestra and guitar club will present a winter concert at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at the school. Free admission. 410-677-5810

Prince Street Elementary School’s Winter Program invites you to join us for “Holidays Around the World: A Cultural Tour” on Monday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Prince Street auditorium. The program will feature Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students singing songs and doing various dance routines to winter and holiday songs from countries all over the globe.  Admission is free. 410-677-5813

Northwestern Elementary School’s 1st- and 2nd-graders will present the musical story of “Melton, the Warm-Hearted Snowman” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the school.  Melton is so full of love and cheer that the tiniest thing sets his heart aglow and his body a-meltin'.  Melton teaches us what the holiday season is really all about - LOVE!  Free. 410-677-5808

The James M. Bennett High Holiday Band Concert will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 in the Wicomico High School Auditorium. Admission is free. 410-677-5141

 

Tuesday, Dec. 11

The 4-year-old students of Beaver Run Elementary’s Wicomico Early Learning Center will perform The Tale of the Gingerbread Man on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. This program will be held at East Salisbury Elementary. For more information please contact Patty Brown, 410-251-2962.

Pemberton Elementary 5th grade band and 3rd grade chorus students will perform at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 at the school. Band will play some traditional December favorites. Admission free. 410-677-5809

The Pittsville Elementary 5th-grade band and the 5th-grade string students will proudly demonstrate what they have learned so far this year at their Holiday Program in the Pittsville Elementary and Middle School cafetorium on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. Free. 410-677-5811

Bennett Middle Orchestra performs at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 on the cafetorium stage at Bennett Middle School. The program will feature holiday favorites such as “Rudolph the Red- Nosed Reindeer” and “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” as well as medleys of other holiday favorites. There is no charge to attend this concert. 410-677-5140

The Salisbury Middle School 6th-Grade Band and 7th/8th Symphonic Band will present their combined Winter Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. on stage in the Salisbury Middle School cafeteria. Admission to the concert is free, however donations are gratefully accepted. 410-677-5149

The James M. Bennett High School Choral Department, directed by Megan Centineo and accompanied by Edgar Isaacs, will present a two-part series of winter concerts this season. The newly established Women's Ensemble, alongside the Intermediate Choir, will present its first annual Winter Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 in the James M. Bennett Cafeteria. (The superior-rated Concert Choir will present its annual Winter Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 in the James M. Bennett Cafeteria.) Both performances include a selection of music to highlight the sounds of winter and traditions of the holiday season. The Intermediate Choir will present a diverse program to include "Holiday Partners", a collection of partner songs, and "Toys on Parade", a medley incorporating March of the Toys, Toyland and Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.  The Women's Ensemble will perform a variety of selections to include "Ring Silver Bells", and "Snow is Falling" with student accompaniment, and "Peace on Earth" as recorded by Bing Crosby and David Bowie.  The Concert Choir will perform challenging arrangements of traditional favorites to include "Jingle Bells" in the style of Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters, "The First Noel" with cello accompaniment, and "In Dulci Jubilo" a traditional carol with Latin text. Admission to both performances is free and open to the public. 410-677-5141

 

Wednesday, Dec. 12

Glen Avenue Elementary’s 3rd-grade Gators are putting on a program at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the school. Free admission. 410-677-5806

The Delmar Elementary Winter Program, featuring 2nd Grade and the Singing Bobcats, will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 in the Delmar Elementary cafeteria. Please plan to arrive by 5:40 p.m. for this concert. Admission free. 410-677-5178

Westside Intermediate's Winter Program will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 in the cafeteria. It will be a combination of 2nd and 3rd grade choir as well as 5th grade band, which will play some traditional December favorites.

The 120 members of the Wicomico Middle combined 7th and 8th grade choirs, including the Concert Choir, will perform in the Wi Middle auditorium on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. 410-677-5145

The Bennett Middle 8th Grade Chorus will present its holiday concert on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Parkside High School Auditorium. Admission is $2 (children 5 and under free of charge); tickets may be purchased at the door. 410-677-5140

The Salisbury Middle School 6th-grade Beginning Chorus Winter Concert will be on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Salisbury Middle. Admission is $2 for audience members 12 and older, free for those 11 and younger. 410-677-5149

 

Thursday, Dec. 13

The 2nd grade students of Wonderful Willards Elementary will perform a winter concert based on Jan Brett’s book The Mitten on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. in the school cafetorium. This arts-integrated program will focus on the mammal population of our school-wide Animal Kingdom theme. For more information please contact Patty Brown, 410-251-2962.

The Pittsville Middle School band will perform the holiday concert "Peace on Earth: A World of Holiday Sounds" on Thursday, Dec. 13 in the Parkside High School Auditorium. This concert will feature the 6th grade band, 7th & 8th grade combined band, and the Wildcat Marching Band performing a variety of holiday music from different cultures and parts of the world. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free. 410-677-5811

Bennett Middle’s 6th-grade band will perform its annual winter concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at the school. Admission is $2 for adults and school-age children. 410-677-5140

The Mardela High School Holiday Band Concert, featuring the High School Symphonic Band and Warrior Marching Band & Bandfront, will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17 in the MMHS cafetorium. Free admission. 410-677-5142

 

Tuesday, Dec. 18

Westside Primary will have a program at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 in the school cafeteria. 410-677-5117

Parkside High School presents its Holiday Concert “Welcome Now the Holiday,” featuring the Parkside Symphonic Band, Intermediate Choir and Concert Choir, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 in the Parkside Auditorium. This Parkside High School Band and Choral Concert will feature classics such as It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, The Polar Express, Carol of the Bells and Let It Snow! Admission is free with donation of one canned good per each guest for the Maryland Food Bank. This year we will hold a silent auction on decorated Christmas trees, sponsored by the Parkside Student Government Association. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Bless Our Children campaign. Wednesday, Dec. 19

Beaver Run Elementary School's Holiday Program will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 in the Wicomico High School Auditorium. Our 1st graders will perform Boogie Woogie Holiday, Snowflake Snowflake, Kwanzaa Celebration, O Tannenbaum, Deck the Halls, O Hanukkah, Jingle Bells, and Cray Cray Christmas (with Principal Curt Twilley as the guest rapper!). The Salisbury Middle School Marching Eagle Band and Color Guard debuts its 2018 performance in the Pocomoke Christmas Parade on Monday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. (Nov. 27 update: The Salisbury Middle Band was the 1st Place Middle School Band in this parade.)

The Mardela Middle and High School Marching Band performs in the Pocomoke Christmas Parade on Monday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. with an original arrangement of Silvestri’s The Polar Express by Boltz & Thompson. (Nov. 27 update: Mardela’s Band was the Grand Champion Band in this parade.)

Sunday, Dec. 2

Salisbury Christmas Parade at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 will feature a number of entries from Wicomico County Public Schools. Watch for:

-Wicomico High School JROTC Marching Unit

-Wicomico County Public Schools entry, featuring the Fruitland Primary FIRST LEGO League Club, students from Prince Street Elementary with costumes and dance, decorations from schools and from the 2018 WCPS holiday card contest, 2018-2019 Wicomico Teacher of the Year Lisa McKinnon of Parkside High, in her TOY car from Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships, the Wicomico County Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Donna Hanlin and other WCPS representatives, and a Wicomico school bus.

 

Monday, Dec. 3

Fruitland Primary 2nd-Graders and the James M. Bennett High Symphonic Band will be celebrating the holidays at the Fruitland Tree Lighting at Fruitland City Hall on Monday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The singers will perform three holiday favorites to get everyone in the holiday spirit. The Mardela Middle School Holiday Band Concert, featuring the middle school intermediate (Grade 6) and Advanced (grades 7-8) bands, will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 in the MMHS cafetorium. Free admission. 410-677-5142

The Delmar Elementary Winter Program, featuring students in Kindergarten and 1st Grade, will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 in the Delmar Elementary cafeteria. Please plan to arrive by 5:40 p.m. for this concert, which will last no more than an hour. Admission free. 410-677-5178
