Announcing Mrs. Julie Dill as Director of Curriculum, Instructional Resources & Professional Development

Dr. Frederick L. “Rick” Briggs, Chief Academic Officer for Wicomico County Public Schools, announced that Mrs. Julie Dill is now the Director of Curriculum, Instructional Resources & Professional Development for Wicomico Schools.

"Please join me in congratulating Mrs. Dill, welcoming her as a key leader on the Division of Instruction team, and thanking her for bringing to her new position her considerable educational experience and expertise from more than 30 years as an educator for Wicomico Schools," Dr. Briggs said.

A National Board Certified educator, Mrs. Dill most recently served as the K-5 Mathematics Supervisor for Wicomico County Public Schools, supervising elementary math teachers and the team of mathematics professional development coaches. She designed and implemented the elementary mathematics program, planned and conducted professional development at the local, state and national level, and served as Team Lead with the Maryland State Department of Education. She collaborated with the Division of Instruction and district leadership in the development of the Master Plan as well as school- and district-based initiatives, while also serving on instructional leadership teams at various schools, actively participating in Title I monitoring meetings, and developing and managing a budget.

Mrs. Dill began her education career in Wicomico as a classroom teacher in 1989. She worked on teams with the Maryland State Department of Education to develop units, lesson plans and lesson seeds during the transition to the Maryland College and Career Readiness Standards. She continued to serve Wicomico Schools as a math professional development coach, planning and implementing professional development opportunities at the school, district and national levels. She helped develop local curriculum documents, assessments and resources, and utilized data to make instructional and school-based decisions.

She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (1989) and a Master's Degree – Administration I endorsement (1997), both from Salisbury University. Mrs. Dill takes over as Director of Curriculum, Instructional Resources & Professional Development from Dr. Brian J. Raygor, who was named the school system’s Chief Finance and Operations Officer last month.
