Parent Message 6/16

Good Morning Clipper families, this is Principal Savage with your last official message of the 2019-2020 school year.

Today marks the last day for teachers and I know that many of you have already begun to enjoy summer break.  As the 2019-2020 school year officially comes to a close, I wanted to take time to share that it has been and interesting year for sure, but we made it through together.  Thank you for the quick adjustment when schools closed.  It is true that we still don’t know what the fall will look like, but I can tell you that all options are being considered.  If you haven’t filled out the survey for the county, now is a good time and today is the last day.  The link is provided in the email or it can be found on Facebook.

Just a few more reminders and opportunities:

Please review Facebook for classes that require summer work.

Salisbury University is offering a summer STEM Academy for students entering grades 9-12.  Check out the link in the email for more information.

If your student needs to make up lost credit or they would like to get ahead be sure to check out the summer school flyer attached to the email.  high school Summer school registration flyer pdf.pdf

Report cards will be mailed home on the 19th.

We will have one last round of drop off for any last items that you may still have at home that need to be returned to school.  Reminder:  Only laptops belonging to 2020 graduates need returned.  Underclassman should keep their laptops over the summer.  The last drop off date will take place on the last day of the month, Tuesday June 30th from 3-5.  The drop off will again take place in the A-Wing parking lot.  When you enter the A-wing locate the orange bins.  You will be able to park near the orange bins and place the items you are returning in the bins. We ask that you put the items you are returning in a bag and attach the students name.

Please go onto parent portal and check your schedule requests for next year.  If you see something that needs adjusted email your guidance counselor.  Don’t wait until fall when you are required to complete a change of schedule request and then wait until you can get into guidance.  Avoid the rush and review it now.  Parent portal closed on the 30th so don’t delay.  The directions for locating the request is attached to the email.  Viewing Course Reqeusts on the Family and Student Portal.pdf

On behalf of the entire administrative team and staff at JMB, I want to thank you for making this unusual year a great year despite the odds.  We hope to see those of you return to JMB in the fall and for those of you graduating, we look forward to hearing all about your success.

Thank you and have a great summer.
