Sunday Night Message 9/2
Good evening JMB families. This is Principal Savage with your weekly message.
I hope that you had a great weekend and that you are ready for the return to school. Just a reminder that Tuesday will be for first time 9th graders only and all other students will return to school on Wednesday.
Our school day is from 7:45 to 2:45. That means students need to be seated in their first period class by 7:45. Please be sure to be present and on time the first day to avoid starting the year behind. As you have heard the county attendance policy has changed. I attached the highlights of the policy on Friday but have attached them again to the email portion this message as well.
Picture day is on Friday of this week. Make sure you look your best and smile.
Many of our students have already been hard at work getting ready for the return of school. Students in the band and those of fall sports teams have been hard at it for several weeks. As we return this week, we will have Boys Varsity and JV soccer games and Girls Varsity and JV Field Hockey games at home on Friday and Varsity Football will play here at home on Saturday against Easton with the band performing during halftime. Be sure to come out as students have been working hard and would love to see you in the audience.
The cost for these events is $5 and with a school id $2.
For more information about games and activities going on this week, check out the bulletin attached to the email.
Parents, though our students are in high school they still continue to struggle with making appropriate decisions on social media. The ability to NOT respond to a post on social media is a real struggle for teenagers. In order to keep your child safe and the school safe we ask that you actively monitor your child’s posts and social media. If you have concerns, talk with your child and if needed we are here to help.
Just a few other reminders for 2019-2020
- Be on time and in school each day.
- Dress appropriately.
- Be Kind – Say, “Hello!” “Thank you!” Open doors for others and smile.
- Be in class on time. Hallways should be clear during instruction time.
- Keep the school clean. Throw away or consume beverages and food prior to entering the building.
- Follow the Request for schedule change process. Directions are attached to the email.
I am looking forward to seeing the students enter the building this week.
Thank you and have a great evening.
