🎉 Homecoming 2022
James M. Bennett High School is happy to announce our 2022 Homecoming Celebration from September 26th thru October 1st. The theme for the week is Neon 80s.
On each day of the week, a school Spirit Day will be held. Themes for each day include: Monday - anything but a bookbag ; Tuesday – Students VS Teachers; Wednesday - decades day ; Thursday - Adam Sandler Day ; Friday- Neon Wars ( seniors - orange, juniors - pink, sophomores - yellow, freshmen - blue ).
The Homecoming Football game will be held on Friday September 30th at 6:00pm at Wicomico County Stadium against Queen Annes. At Halftime, the Homecoming Court will be presented after the JMB Band performs their 2022 field show titled: “I Believe”.
Outstanding Clippers will be recognized as Homecoming Court. Members of the court will be chosen by their classmates for being good representatives of the Clipper Way -- meaning they model Respect, Responsibility and come to school Ready to Learn.
Students can nominate up to two of their classmates for the homecoming court in their “Class Of” Google Classroom by 3pm on Thursday September 22nd. Nominees will be notified on Friday September 23rd in their student email and must accept the nomination by Sunday September 25th to appear on the ballot.
Starting on Monday September 26th during Flex, students will then vote for a male and female from their eligible nominees to represent them on the Homecoming Court. Voting will continue thru Tuesday September 27th at 3:00pm.
The top male and female of the freshman, sophomore, and junior classes, along with the top 6 members of the senior class comprise the court. The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at Halftime during the Homecoming game.
On Friday September 30th there will be a Homecoming Rally during 4th period. Parents, if you need your student to leave school early, please make arrangements to pick them up before 1:30pm.
The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday October 1st from 8:00pm – 10:00pm at JMB. The night will feature music from the 80s and today. There will be drinks and light snacks included, along with table games and sports. Upperclassmen will be able to request tickets on Thursday September 22nd in their Google Classrooms, and underclassmen will be able to request tickets on Friday September 23rd. A maximum of 600 tickets will be sold, so students desiring tickets should request as soon as tickets open. Each JMB student will be able to bring an outside guest. The guest will need to complete the Guest Dance Form, available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XLKPnay4ZXUzYfEmR1XkOWTgry41Yt74/view.
After placing a ticket request, students will receive their ticket numbers in their student email. This ticket number, along with payment in cash or check, and the completed guest dance form must be placed in an envelope and deposited in drop box in the front office. Tickets will then be distributed during Flex classes on Thursday November 29th. Students who do not have a flex class at JMB can pick tickets up from the main office beginning at lunch on Thursday November 29th.
