Parent Message 9-19

From the Helm.  https://www.smore.com/qh1tx

Good evening, Clipper Families this is Principal Savage, with your weekly message.

This week looks to be a busy week as school is in full swing, and with that in mind, we are looking for some reliable student ANCHORS to help support the Clipper Nation. Be sure to check out the link if you think you might be interested. https://tinyurl.com/jmbanchors

We start this week with Maryland day tomorrow for school spirit during homecoming week. Each day will have a theme so check those out in the From the Helm link.  https://www.smore.com/qh1tx We have several games taking place this week and our after-school clubs have started meeting, so be sure to check out those opportunities.

The state assessments also will be administered this week on Wednesday with a delayed opening. If your student is not testing encourage them to check with their bus driver about pick-up times on Wednesday or give the bus driver a call using the bus list on our website.

All James M. Bennett High School Students will take the Maryland Youth Risk Behavior Survey/Youth Tabaco Survey on October 6th. Since this is a state of Maryland Survey the county opt-out form would not apply. Attached is the opt-out form for the Maryland Survey.

Students need to sign up for the dance by Tuesday to ensure a ticket for the homecoming dance that will take place on the 25th at the Shipyard.

As our county continues to be at “high” risk for the transmission of COVID-19 it is important to remember that all individuals entering JMB must wear a mask and wear it properly. Our goal is to keep everyone healthy and in school. Please do your part and wear your mask and wear it correctly.

Have a wonderful evening!
