Sept 13th

Good evening, Clipper families.  This is Principal Savage with your weekly message.

Wow, it is hard to believe that we already have a week of school completed.  There was a lot of learning that took place last week.  I think both students and staff learned a lot about Zoom and Google Classroom.  As I dropped into Zoom classrooms, I noticed that as the week went on students were responding more and more to teacher questions.  Remember what is was like sitting in a classroom debating about raising your hand to answer a teacher’s question?  Now think about what it would be like to answer a teacher’s question on Zoom.  We should be so proud of what our students and teachers are doing to keep learning alive in 2020.  I know that both the students and teachers made me proud last week and I look forward to seeing what they are capable of moving forward.

Just a reminder that we are taking attendance during our virtual start to the school year.  Mrs. Lombardo-Wehlan is our attendance secretary so if you have any question about attendance you can either call the school or send her and email.

Attention all 11th graders who are interested in taking the PSATs.  That deadline is fast approaching to get signed up.  Please review the attachment about PSATs in the email portion of this message.  PSATs

We are still handing out laptops and hotspots.  If you have called, we have added you to our list.  As soon as we have one ready for you, you will receive a call from Ms. Blake, letting you know that you can pick up your device.  For a few of you, Ms. Blake has called but you have not retrieved your device.  If those devices are not picked up by Wednesday, they will be provided to someone else who may need one.  If you have any questions, please email Ms. Blake.

The last day to request a schedule change is Sept 16th

To keep up to date with all that is taking place please check out our Facebook page or Instagram.  If you don’t have those, no worries, our Facebook page is visible on our school webpage.

One of the new pieces of information that has come out is the MPSSAA guidance for sports this year.  The guidance plan allows for all three seasons to be completed but in shorten seasons. That information is attached to the email.  MPSSAA Guidance.JPG  If you have any question about JMB athletics, please contact Mr. Bailey.

If you have any back to school forms that still need to be completed those can be sent to or you can drop them off at the school.

Let your student know they should be on the look out for information on how we will be adding morning announcements to our virtual learning.  Even while we are at a distance it is important to stay connected and keep as many of our traditions as possible.  Speaking of traditions, we will be electing class office over the next few weeks so be on the look out for that information as well.

There is a lot taking place and a lot to learning during virtual learning so if you have any questions please reach out.

Thank you and have a great evening.
