    Dr. Frederick L. Briggs
    Assistant Superintendent for Instruction - Chief Academic Officer

    Dr. Frederick L. Briggs is a 1994 Parkside High School graduate. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Salisbury State University, Dr. Briggs began his career with Wicomico County Public Schools in 1999. He taught math at Wicomico High for five years, then served one year as the school’s Dean of Students and four years as one of the school’s assistant principals. He was promoted to Principal in 2005, serving first at Bennett Middle for two years, at Mardela Middle and High for five years, and at James M. Bennett High for one year (2016-2017).  Dr. Briggs has served as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction - Chief Academic Officer since July 1, 2017.

    He earned his Master of Education in School Administration from Salisbury University in 2005 and earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in the Contemporary Curriculum Theory and Instruction: Literacy Program in the Spring of 2018. Dr. Briggs lives in Salisbury with his wife, Kristen (a Wicomico County teacher), and children Ella and Owen, who attend Wicomico County schools.
