Students, Staff Return to Parkside High Building after Fire Department Deals with Smoke from Equipment Problem
Posted on 03/24/2016
Early this morning Parkside High School administration found a fire alarm going off in the building due to smoke in the lower level, from an equipment problem. At no time were students in the building. ATEX classes were cancelled for today, and Parkside students were held outside under staff supervision while fire department personnel attended to the building. The fire department has secured the scene and given the all clear, and students are re-entering the building. Some students will report directly to their 1st period classes, while others will wait in the auditorium to ensure that the lower level classrooms are ready to occupy. We thank everyone for their patience and professionalism during this unexpected start to the day. Please watch the Wicomico County Public Schools Facebook page and Twitter page for further updates. Parkside High School will place an updated call to parents later in the day.
