  • TICKET SALES EXTENDED FOR MS FORMAL

    MS Formal Dance ticket sales extended

    Attention Middle School Parents:  The Middle School Formal will be held on Friday, February 21st from 7:00-9:00 PM in the cafeteria.  Tickets are $10 and will be sold outside of the cafeteria during breakfast from February 12th to February 19th.

  • MMHS NAMED UNIFIED SPORTS CHAMPION SCHOOL

    Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools

    Mardela has been recognized as a National Banner Unified Champion School!!  Thanks to the coaches who make our Unified Sports programs outstanding all-inclusive opportunities and our Unified student-athletes that represent Mardela with pride.  We are one of only 5 schools who are a part of Maryland’s inaugural class!

  • UNIFIED STRENGTH & CONDITIONING TAKES SILVER

    Unified Strength & Conditioning

    The unified strength and conditioning team did an awesome job on Tuesday at the state tournament.

     

    Our small team combined with the Wi Hi team and our combined efforts earned us silver medals.

     

    The race walk relay team of Christopher Denault and Ali Sahan earned a personal best time of 16.3 seconds.

     

    The indoor cycling team of Shannon Cottingham and Ali Sahan earned first place with their combined distance of 2.3 miles.

     

    Abigail Shockley lifted a personal best of 72 pounds in the bench press.

     

    We had an awesome season.

  • MMHS STUDENTS EARN ALL-SHORE HONORS

    On Saturday, February 1st All-Shore Orchestra auditions were held at Stephen Decatur High School and included students from 4 different counties on the eastern shore. Mardela had 4 students audition and I'm pleased to announce that all students have been accepted into this prestigious ensemble!

    It is important to note that Zander Baer received such a high score that he was not only accepted into the orchestra, but will be first chair and section leader for the cello section!

  • MMHS RECOGNIZED FOR DIVERSITY IN AP COMP SCI
    Female Diversity Award
    Mardela Middle & High School has earned the College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science Principles. Schools honored with the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have expanded young women’s access to AP computer science courses.
     
    Out of the 20,000 institutions that offer AP courses, 818 achieved this important result during the 2018-2019 school year--nearly 20% more than the 685 schools recognized last year. In 2019, Mardela Middle & High School was one of 639 recognized in the category of AP Computer Science Principles. An additional 36 schools received the award for both CSP and CSA.
     
    Schools receiving the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have achieved either 50% or higher female representation in either or both of the AP computer science courses, or the percentage of female computer science examinees meets or exceeds that of the school’s female population.

  • SPELLING BEE CHAMPION NAMED

    Spelling Bee Champs

    The winner of the school-wide Spelling Bee was 8th grader Kaleb Brown who will represent MMHS at The Maryland Eastern Shore Regional Spelling Bee which will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020. (Weather makeup date Saturday, March 14, 2020.) This bee is open to public, private and home school students in Wicomico, Somerset, Worcester and Dorchester counties and Delmar. Several regional bee winners have come from Wicomico County Public Schools, and each of these winners received an all-expenses-paid trip for the speller and a parent to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC.


    The runner-up, who will represent MMHS in the event that Kaleb is unable, was Mackenzie Triplett.
