Margo HandyDr. Margo Handy, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction & Curriculum. Dr. Handy (a graduate of James M. Bennett High) works with administrators, teachers, and parents throughout the school district to ensure high quality instructional and behavioral programs and practices for every student. Dr. Handy has also served Wicomico Schools as Director of Elementary Education, Supervisor of the English for Speakers of Other Languages Program and Education That is Multicultural, and Principal of Pemberton Elementary School and Prince Street Elementary School.

Dr. Handy received the National Milken Educator Award for her leadership and advocacy promoting student achievement ad teacher performance. She has also been honored by the National PTA with a lifetime membership for her focus on parent involvement and engagement in the school and community. 

She led Prince Street and Pemberton Elementary in becoming National Title I schools. Dr. Handy has also traveled with an International Delegation of Educators to represent the state of Maryland to discuss educational issues.  Dr. Handy received her Master’s Degree in Administration from Morgan State University and Doctorate Degree in Innovation Leadership from Wilmington University. She lives in Salisbury, Maryland with her husband Mario.
