2023-2024 School Calendar Input Survey Open through 4:30 p.m. Jan. 4
The Wicomico County Board of Education is taking input for the 2023-2024 school year calendar through an online survey that will remain open until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
At its monthly meeting on Dec. 13, the Board of Education had 1st reading on two draft calendars for the 2023-2024 school year. The Board directed that input be sought prior to a final vote to approve a calendar at its Jan. 10 meeting.
The two calendar drafts – Pre Labor Day and Post Labor Day – and an online survey are available through the website (www.wcboe.org) in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole. Stating a preference for either the Pre Labor Day calendar or Post Labor Day calendar is required for the survey. Other calendar comments and suggestions may also be submitted through the survey.
The Pre Labor Day calendar would begin school on Monday, Aug. 28. Spring Break would run from March 27-April 1. The last day of school would be Wednesday, June 12.
The Post Labor Day calendar would begin school on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Spring Break would run from March 28-April 1. The last day of school would be Thursday, June 13.There are variations between the calendars on some individual dates. Dates for the Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break are the same on both calendars.
