Wicomico County Public Schools (WCPS) will administer assessments to all current WCPS second-grade students this year to help establish each child’s appropriate academic placement for the 2018-2019 academic year. Each child’s assessment results will help determine eligibility for the Magnet Program, an accelerated and enhanced learning program for students in grades 3 through 5. In addition, the results will be used to determine student eligibility for our Gifted and Talented program.
Each year some families make the transition from non-public to public school. Students not currently enrolled in public schools who would like to be considered for the Magnet Program for the 2018-2019 school year must be pre-registered for the required assessment by TBD.
We are offering the following one-time opportunity for any nonpublic school student to participate in the two-day InView Magnet Program Assessment:
Day 1 – 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. TBD
2424 Northgate Drive, Suite 100, Salisbury, MD
Day 2 - 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. TBD
2424 Northgate Drive, Suite 100, Salisbury MD
InView – The InView is an assessment of cognitive abilities that includes verbal reasoning, sequences, analogies, and quantitative reasoning. Students must participate on both days to complete the full assessment. All testing will take place at the Wicomico County Public Schools’ complex located at, 2424 Northgate Drive, Salisbury MD over the course of both dates listed above.
Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. on each of the testing days. Testing will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. each day. Parents/Guardians must remain at the Northgate complex in a designated area while the children are taking part in the InView assessment in a secure testing area.
Outlined below is the process you and your child should follow if you are interested in having your child participate in this assessment:
- Pre-Register prior to the InView Assessment Deadline of TBD.
Contact Ms. Melissa Holland at 410-677-4563 to pre-register your child.
- Arrive on time with your child both days for the assessment at the Wicomico County Public Schools’ Northgate complex.
Report to the main entrance of the complex and sign in with the receptionist for the InView assessment opportunity.
It is imperative that you register for this one-time only assessment in advance if you plan to enroll your current second grade child in Wicomico County Public Schools for the 2018-2019 academic school year, and be considered for possible enrollment in the Magnet Program. Failure to register on time and have your child take the assessment on the dates provided will prevent your child from being eligible for the Magnet Program.
As a school system, we welcome the opportunity to serve your family by educating your child.
