ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR WEEK OF NOVEMBER 12TH-16TH:
Glen Avenue is thrilled to announce that 124 of our 425 students achieved ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT and many, many of our students had two or less days of absence! We are off to a fabulous start! If a conference was requested on the report card, please call to schedule it. Parent Conferences school wide are not scheduled until the midterm of Term 2, which is on December 13th. You are encouraged to call the school if you would like a conference or to contact the teacher via email or Class DoJo.
Next week is American Education Week. We welcome visitors all year. You are certainly welcome to visit during American Education Week but know our door is always open. AEW visitors must be on the student’s contact list approved by the guardian. We discourage younger siblings because we are continuing instruction during your visits. We do need to ask that visitors interact only with your own child during your visit. Please have your driver’s license ready as you enter the office and we will get you to the classroom as quickly as we can. Visitation time is 8:30-3:00. The School Book Fair is open all week and we encourage you to visit the media center while you are in the school.
If you do choose to visit, we suggest the following days due to parking:
Monday: Grade 2
Tuesday: Grade 3
Wednesday: Grade 4
Thursday: Grade 5
Please be sure not to block driveways surrounding the school and nearby neighborhood.
Events for the week:
Monday: Cross Country Practice 4:00-5:00
Tuesday: 7:00 Board Of Education Meeting
Wednesday: 7:30 am DI Team Practice
Friday: End of the Boxtops 4 Education Collection Competition between classes
Honors Ceremonies for Term 1
November 20th: 9:15 Grade 2; 10:00 Grade 3; 1:30 Grade 4; 2:15 Grade 5
We had a great time at trunk or treat! Thank you to all of our staff and community for supporting this fun evening for our students.
REPORT CARDS WENT HOME ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH. See the flyer sent home suggesting ways to handle a parent conference. There are also ideas in the newsletter for talking to your child about their report card.
