BE PREPARED

Have your materials with you when you arrive to class.  These materials should be your covered textbook, pencil, agenda, spiral notebook, binder, and completed assignment for that day.

TIME ON TASK

When the bell rings, you should be sitting in your assigned seat.  If you are out of your seat you will receive one tardy.  Three tardies is a detention and the fourth is an office referral (this is county policy).  There will be a warm up in the classroom.  Stay in your seat unless given permission.  Please clean up any trash that is yours before you leave.  I dismiss you not the bell.

BE RESPECTFUL

You are expected to treat your classmates, guests, and me with courtesy and respect.  Please also respect the items in the classroom.  If you need something raise your hand and ask at an appropriate time.

PARTICIPATE

I expect each student to work to his/her highest potential.  This includes being actively involved in the lesson.  The more involved in the class you are the better the chance for success.  Please do not call out.  Wait for me to acknowledge your raised hand.  We will work together to achieve these goals.

MAKE UP WORK

It is your responsibility to get all the work when you miss class.  I will put the assignments on the homework wall under your class period (homework assignment will also be available on web page).  If it is a worksheet the worksheet will be place in your class’s folder and identified by title (some worksheet will be available on web page).  You will need to make up your work within 5 days of absence (time allowed by the county policy).  If you miss a test or quiz you will need to make it up after school by the time allowed by county policy.  Extended absences will be worked out.  Make up work is not late work

ASSIGNMENTS

Homework will be given every night.  I will be checking homework for completeness and will be collecting some homework that will be graded on correctness.  It is to your advantage to do all the homework and ask questions about any problems you do not understand.  All homework will be included in your grade.  All tests will be announced ahead of time and so will most quizzes.  Expect a quiz at least once every two week.

PASSES TO AND FROM CLASS

If you are late to class and you do not have a pass, you will be marked tardy.  If you are 10 minutes late to class without a pass you’ll be referred for cutting class (school policy).  If you need to use the restroom please fill out your agenda prior to asking me to sign it.  You may not go the first or last 10 minutes of the class.  You may also not go when I am in the middle of a lesson.  Please do not abuse the right to use the restroom.  If you need to meet with another teacher have that teacher fill out your agenda prior to coming to class.  I can’t just let you go to another teacher’s class without permission.

GRADING POLICY

Test/Quizzes – 50%

Homework – 25%

Warm-up/Classwork – 25%

If anyone has a question about any of the procedures or policies please make it a point to set an appointment with me outside of class or email me.  If you need extra help let me know and I can make arrangements to stay after school.  If you feel there is a mistake in your grade I am more than willing to sit down with you and go over the grade out of class.  We all need to work together to be successful.  Your success is my success!
