Let's give em' something

to talk about...

Learning vocabulary is more than just spitting back definitions.  The Latin "voca" means to call or voice.  If you can't use the words in conversation, you haven't mastered the vocabulary.  After all, someday someone will use polysyllabic nomenclature and you should know whether to smile or slap them!

Please note that when we are reading a novel, vocabulary is taught within the context of that text.  If, after reading, you still aren't sure what a word means, use the dictionary.  There is even a dictionary on the internet!

"Study early and often."

Continuous effort, not strength or intelligence, is the key to unlocking our potential.   -Liane Cardes
