Mrs. Perry's Page

Come join the fun!

Welcome to Mrs. Perry's Third Grade Class. I am glad you have visited me on the web.  You will find our themes that we are working on in class as well as any projects we might be doing.  Please continue to look at this page for up and coming events.  For updates and homework assignments look on www.schoolnotes.com.

When we do stance questions, or questions that require a written response this is the format I  will be looking for in your child's answer.  We will be learning about the race strategy and how and when to use it.

R= restate the question in your answer

A= answer the question

C= cite where you found the information

E= explain or extend your answer with personnel

     information.

Please feel free to contact me at school if you ever have any questions.

Thank you.

Mrs. Perry's Math Class

We are excited about starting a new math series this year. Take a few minutes with your child and go through the math book.  Look for the math vocabulary as we will be using this in class. Get used to how the book is laid out so it becomes familiar to you.

Our first unit we will be working on is Place value and money.

Vocabulary to know:

place value = the value given to a digit by its place in a number.

digit = any of the symbols used to write a number.

expanded form = a way of writing a number as the sum of the values of its digits.

standard form = a way to write a number that shows only its digits.

period = each group of thee digits in a place value chart.

round = to find the nearest ten. hundred, thousand, and so on

Here are some web sites that can help you practice your facts.
