Language Arts Block I teach Reading, Language Arts, and Spelling to my homeroom class. A few of the things that we will focus on throughout the course of the year are improving our writing skills, strengthening our language usage skills, and reading for a variety of purposes. Math I teach an above-level section of mathematics. We are using a math textbook published by McGraw-Hill. The sequence of study from now until March is as follows:
Each week the students will complete a 15-minute assessment in the computer lab. This will diagnose any weaknesses in skills and also indicate areas of strength. We are currently reviewing the information tested with this assessment and forming groups based on the results.
