CLASS OF 2002 ALUMNUS THOMAS LATHAM
TO BE LAID TO REST TUESDAY, 2/20/07
Thomas Lee Latham, a member of the class of 2002,
was killed on March 11, 2007, while serving his country in
Iraq.

Department of Defense:
"The Department of Defense announced today the death
of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. Thomas L. Latham, 23, of Delmar,
Md., died March 11 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an
improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee. He was assigned
to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team,
10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y."
Tommy is survived by a daughter, Ariel, age 21 months, a
stepson, Caleb, 5, and his wife, Rachel Guy-Latham, an alumnae of Wi-Hi. Accounts of reaction to Tommy's death may be found in

Funeral services in Salisbury at Emmanuel Wesleyan
Church at 217 Beaglin Park Drive included public viewings between 6 and 9
p.m. Monday, 3/19/2007 and also Tuesday, 3/21/2007 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The funeral service
was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, 3/21/2007. A chapel service was held at
Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock where Latham was buried.
