Have a Heart Campaign February 12 – 16

•             For Homeless Children and Youth in our Community

•             Items collected in classrooms will be picked up 6^th and 7^th periods on the 16^th

•             SGA approved the spending of $300 on this project for additional items

•             All SGA members are expected to donate two or more items to Mrs. Micciche

•             Collected items will benefit The Christian Shelter on Church Street in Salisbury

Genesis Nursing Home visit March 20, 2007  (1:10 – 3:30)

•             Twelve students will travel by bus to visit with the residents

•              We will assist residents in celebrating Mardi Gras

•             18 dozen Mardi Gras beads have been purchased for the occasion

•              Permission slips will be going out early March

Spring Blood Drive Friday April 13, 2007

•             Billy Wooten will chair the drive

•            Michelle Greenfarb and Shania Boyd chairpersons

•            March   6 – 13   getting the word out about voter registration

•                        13 – 16  voter registration during all lunch periods

•                                 20   meeting for all interested in running for office 1^st period with Mrs. Micciche

•                                         must attend meeting in order to run

•                                 28   all candidates speeches due (can be turned in earlier)

•                                        Last possible day to sign up to run as officer or representative

•             April   10-13      tapping of speeches for officers

•                        10-20     campaigning:  all posters/ flyers must be approved by Mrs. Micciche

•                              20     speeches played in English classes

•                                        Registered voters to vote following speeches

•                              23     Announcement of election results

•              We have voted to join Southern Eastern Shore Association of  Student Councils

•              Caroline Hutchinson will coordinate our efforts this year

 Other recent decisions/ information

• approved the expenditure (within limits) of recycling cans for the café

• rejected the expenditure of funds and fund raising efforts towards information signs in the café

• approved meeting with Mrs. Goman to look into a filed trip fund for the school

• list of interested individuals will be forwarded for a future meeting.
