Even up with Mr. Boltz by returning all paperwork, forms and fees to him TODAY [these include Permission to Travel Forms, Medical Forms, $30 Uniform Fees, Shoe Fees, Marching Band, Bandfront, and Symphonic Band Handbook Forms].

The 6^th Grade Intermediate Band will begin practices on Monday, October 1, 3-4:15p. The 7^th and 8^th Grade Advanced Band will begin practices on Wednesday, October 10, 3-4:15p. These are required practices of all Middle School band students.

Paperwork: If you have not returned the Address Sheet and Parent-Student MS Band Check-off Sheet, please print out the attachment and return them.

[2^nd posting] MS Practice Calendars: Your children have been graded for 2 hours of practice during the weeks of Sept 3-9, 10-16, and 17-23 (due Monday, Sept. 17). At the end of each class period, I set some goals that will make their home practice purposeful and definable; please help me in guiding your children to developing good practice habits that will enhance their learning and their enjoyment of their instruments.

Be sure to complete your 2 hours of practice for this week; sign and return your practice calendars on Monday/Tuesday (when you first have class). This week’s numbers:

The above number is 27 of 69, 39% (last week 45%), completing this responsibility; this is a good start, but I would like these number rise (however so gradually) to 80%. Parents, do your part to accomplish this goal.

[2^nd posting] MS Calendar Addition[IMPORTANT]: 6^th grade band students, our Holiday Concert will be on Monday, Nov. 19 at 8:00p, following the scheduled PTA evening. Required after school practices (3-4:15p) will begin once a week in early October (details TBA) to prepare and combine our 2 classes. Beginning students will be expected to come to the rehearsals to learn from and along with the other more advanced students; decisions will be made close to the performance if each student is ready for a public concert.

[2^nd posting] Performance Adjustment: The Bingo Christmas Concert, featuring the Symphonic Band, Poms, and Bandfront has been moved from Saturday, December 15 to Saturday, November 17. All students in these performing groups are asked to make this adjustment to their schedules and keep this date open

[2^nd posting] Practice Adjustment: The combined Warrior Marching Band rehearsal for Monday, November 19 from 6:30-8:30p must be changed due to an unexpected PTA meeting and the 6^th Grade (w/Orchestra) Holiday Concert. This practice will stay on Monday, November 19, though it will be from 3-5:00p (I am in the process of contacting sports coaches so that we will see all of our students for this last rehearsal before the Pocomoke Parade).
