Tech
Integration Course Guidelines
In
this online course, you will use the Wicomico
County Definition of Technology Integration as well as what you know about
the different software available in the county, to create, teach and reflect
upon three lesson plans integrating technology.
You
may use the software that you learned when you took last year’s online course
or software that you explore on your own with the tutorials provided this year.
Each lesson must highlight a different type of software or application, although
each lesson may use more than one type. For
example, you may have a lesson where students complete an Internet worksheet
using Word and the Internet, and then display learned information in a
PowerPoint slide or presentation. Each lesson should use a different type of
software. In other words, you may not turn in three PowerPoint presentations you
used as lecture tools, for three different lessons.
Three
Lesson Plans must be as follows:
- Teacher
directed lesson: ( maximum 1)
- In
a teacher directed lesson, the teacher uses technology to present
information or material to the class.
Some examples might be a PowerPoint presentation, creating a web
using Inspiration/Kidspiration, an Internet based activity, using YPP as
a tutorial, or incorporating a UnitedStreaming video.
- A
student product is not required.
- Student
Centered Lessons: (minimum of 2)
- In
a student centered lesson, the student must create a product.
The product might be computer generated or paper/pencil resulting
from their use of technology. It
may be individual, small group, or whole group.
- You
may not use SRI or YPP for your lessons.
You
must:
- Use
the provided lesson plan template.
- Create
the learning objects described in your lesson: PowerPoint Presentations,
Kidspiration/Inspiration templates, WebQuests, etc.
- Provide
a sample of student created activities if applicable
- Reflect
on each lesson after it is taught.
In
your dropbox, your TRT will be looking for:
- Completed
Lesson Plan Template
- Learning
Objects used or samples of student work
