Youth Career Tours are provided by a cooperative effort of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce's Workforce Development Committee, Salisbury's Promise Marketable Skills Task Force and the Caring Adult Task Force. Middle school students, who are in the Wicomico Mentoring Project, are targeted for this activity, to encourage them to start thinking about possible career choices. When students can envision a future, they will understand why they need to do well in school. Mentors invite their students to go on the tours. In the past, the Wicomico Mentoring Project visited Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company, MaTech, the Centre at Salisbury, the EXCEL Science Museum, and the Wicomico Career and Technology Education Center at Parkside.
