Notice about Maryland Summer Centers for Gifted and Talented Education

The Maryland General Assembly did not fund the Maryland Summer Centers for Gifted and Talented Education for summer 2010. The Summer Centers for environmental and historical research that have been based in Salisbury will not be held this year. A few of the Summer Centers, including the environmental center at Horn Point, have obtained private backing in order to operate in 2010. More information on Summer Centers 2010 is available at http://www.marylandpublicschools.org/MSDE/programs/giftedtalented/centers. Please check back at this site for updates on Maryland Summer Centers for 2011.

Welcome

If you care about the plants and animals of the Chesapeake Bay and are interested in the Bay's health, please read on.

We too care about the Bay and all of its tributary water systems. One tributary is the Wicomico River, in the Salisbury, MD area. During this ten day program, Diary of a River student researchers are dedicated to investigating, assessing and positively impacting the Wicomico River, and in turn the Chesapeake Bay.

The Wicomico River is on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and is a tributary to the Chesapeake Bay.
