Wicomico High/VPA Artist Wins 1st in MD First Lady Art Show
Art by Tony Herrera, Wicomico High and Wicomico Visual and Performing Arts Student, is Best in Show at Maryland First Lady's Art Show

On March 19, senior Tony Herrera of Wicomico High School and the Wicomico County Visual and Performing Arts Program was recognized as the 1st place High School winner and Best in Show in the First Lady of Maryland’s Gallery Awards for the Spring Student Artwork Exhibition, held at the House of Delegates Gallery Space in Annapolis. The contestants for First Lady Yumi Hogan’s art awards were students from all 23 Maryland counties and Baltimore City. Tony took 1st place high school honors, and his work was selected Best in Show.  This was a great win and great recognition, and many people at the show from other counties shouted, “Wicomico!” and “Go WiHi!” in celebration.
