Science camps@SU
WHAT:  Free residential summer program. Students are invited to explore STEM fields through lab experiments, hands-on activities, workshops, team challenges and seminars with scientists. Topics may range from rocket engineering to the chemistry of cooking. The camp also includes engaging field trips.

Delmarva Discovery Center Marine Biology Camp
WHERE:  Delmarva Discovery Center, Pocomoke City
WHAT: Ever wondered if a fish drinks?  Does a snail have a sense of smell?  Why is a horseshoe crab''''s blood blue?  Campers will get a chance to feed the fish, and communicate with a diver in the 6,000 gallon aquarium.  Read ocean stories, walk the Cypress Trail and learn through doing with marine biology- themed crafts.

Summer Scholars
WHAT: Summer courses for gifted and talented students. New courses being offered this summer include "The Sky''''s the Limit -- Adventures in Aeronautics," "Pet Vet," "Making News: Broadcast Journalism in Action," "Roller Coaster Physics," "Geek Squad," "American Girls through History," "Myth Busters and More," "Geocaching -- High-Tech ''''Treasure'''' Hunting," "Get Psyched!," "The Kids Caf?," "The Art and Science of Cooking," "Do It Yourself Design -- In Three Dimensions," "Junior Apprentice" and "Law and Order." Other topics include art, chess, computer animation and video game design, crime scene investigation, digital photography, LEGO robotics, marine engineering, ooey gooey chemistry, sign language and writing.

WHEN: July 9-Aug. 3. One-week courses are being offered Monday through Friday, beginning July 9. Students can take full- or half-day courses. Full-day courses will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a one-hour lunch. Half-day courses, which are offered 9 a.m.-noon or 1-4 p.m., can also be taken back-to-back to create a full-day schedule. Before and after care is available at the college''''s on-campus child development center.

Summer Language Experience at UMES
WHAT: Two-week summer programs at University of Maryland Eastern Shore for high school students to study Intensive Elementary Arabic or Chinese. The 60 hours of fast-paced instruction is equivalent to nearly 15 weeks of school instruction.
