Wednesday, Dec. 6

Beaver Run Elementary School's Kindergarten Holiday Program will be presented Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wicomico High School Auditorium. It will feature Kindergarten students performing songs from various holidays. Admission is free. 410-677-5101

The Delmar Elementary Winter Concert, featuring 2nd-grade students and our Singing Bobcats, will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 in the Delmar Elementary cafeteria. Admission free. 410-677-5178

The Wicomico Middle School Band will present a Winter Concert entitled “Winter Celebration!” The concert will feature the Wicomico Middle School 7th- and 8th-grade Band performing music that will help us celebrate the magical time of the winter season.  Join us on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wicomico Middle auditorium! The Pittsville Elementary 5th-grade band and the 4th- and 5th-grade string students will proudly demonstrate what they have learned so far this year at their Holiday Program in the Pittsville Elementary and Middle School cafetorium on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. Free. 410-677-5811

The Bennett Middle School 6th- and 7th-grade Chorus would like to help usher in your holiday spirit as the students present their holiday concert in the James M. Bennett High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6.  Tickets are on sale during lunch for $2. Tickets will also be available at the door for $3. Thursday, Dec. 7

The Bennett Middle School 8th-grade Chorus will present the sounds of the season in their concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 in the James M. Bennett Auditorium. The string programs of Salisbury Middle School and Mardela Middle and High will present their Winter Program on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the cafetorium at Mardela Middle and High School. Parkside High School orchestra will perform a winter concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 in the Parkside Auditorium. 410-677-5143

The Pittsville Elementary and Middle School Chorus Concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 (please note new time and date) in the Wicomico High School Auditorium. The Pittsville 4th-8th grade choruses will perform selections including "Jubilate, Alleluia," "Deck the Nutcracker Hall," "A Winter Wish," and favorites from "The Polar Express" as well as seasonal songs arranged into a spirited medley that features Frosty, Rudolph and others. Admission $2.50 per person or $5 per family. 410-677-5811

 

Friday, Dec. 8

The Mardela Middle and High School choirs join together on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. in the MMHS cafeteria for “Everybody Rejoice.” The concert is free to all. 410-677-5142

 

Sunday, Dec. 10

The Delmar Elementary Singing Bobcats will perform at the Delmar Community Carol Sing, 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10 in the Delmar Middle & High School Auditorium. Event is sponsored by St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, which will serve soup, sandwiches and cookies in its Camelot Hall following the caroling. Donations of canned goods welcome, for distribution to families in need in the community. Free admission. 410-677-5178

Mardela High School Holiday Ensemble Performance at the Mardela Town Christmas, Sunday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. Come and hear Emily Lawson (9, Flute) Treasure Jenkins (9, Clarinet), Ally McFarlane (9, Trumpet), and an ensemble with Logan Rudd (9, Alto Sax), Austin Mason (10, Tenor Sax), Jacob Long (10, Baritone), Jake Taylor (10, Percussion).

Monday, Dec. 11

The East Salisbury Elementary Winter Concert will be Monday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. in the school gym. Performing will be 3rd-grade singers, select 4th-grade recorder players, and 5th-grade string students. Admission is free, event open to the public. 410-677-5803

The North Salisbury Elementary Band and String Orchestra winter concert will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 in the school multipurpose room. The band will play “Let’s Rock.” Admission free. 410-677-5807

Prince Street Elementary School invites you to come on a “Holiday Road Trip – A Winter Musical” at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 at the school. Prince Street’s intermediate students and its chorus/drama group will perform. Admission free. 410-677-5813

Westside Primary will have a program at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 at the school. 410-677-5117

The Wicomico Middle School 7th- and 8th-grade combined choirs will perform at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11 in the school auditorium. Free admission. 410-677-5145

The Mardela High School Holiday Band Concert, featuring the high school symphonic band and Warrior Marching Band & Bandfront, will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 in the MMHS cafetorium. Free admission. 410-677-5142

 

Tuesday, Dec. 12

The students of the Wicomico Early Learning Center will perform “Melton the Warm-Hearted Snowman” on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. in the East Salisbury Elementary gymnasium. For more information please contact Patty Brown, 410-251-2962.

Pemberton Elementary band and chorus students will perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 at the school. Come hear the band play “Jingle Jolly Christmas”! 410-677-5809

The Salisbury Middle School 6th-grade Beginning Chorus Winter Concert will be on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of Salisbury Middle. Admission is $3 for audience members 12 and older, free for those 11 and younger. 410-677-5149

The James M. Bennett High School Choral Department will present “A Hip Holiday!” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 in the James M. Bennett Auditorium. The performance is a tribute to the jazz-influenced holiday pop music composed in the 1930s and '40s, music which continued to influence the holiday music industry for decades and remains popular today. The evening will begin with selections from the Intermediate Choir including "Holiday", "Light the Menorah" and a medley of familiar carols. The Concert Choir will perform a variety of jazz arrangements to include "Cool Yule" in the style of Louis Armstrong, "You're All I Want for Christmas" as performed by Bing Crosby, and "Linus and Lucy" from A Charlie Brown Christmas.  Other traditional selections arranged with a jazz influence include "Silent Night" in German as performed by New York Voices, "We Three Kings" featuring our tenors and basses, and "Coventry Carol", a traditional English carol dating from the 16th century. The evening will conclude by combining more than 100 voices to perform a choral arrangement of “Sleigh Ride” true to the original winter pop classic by Leroy Anderson.  Admission is free and open to the public. 410-677-5141

Parkside High School presents its Holiday Concert “We Need a Little Christmas,” featuring the Parkside Symphonic Band, Intermediate Choir and Concert Choir, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 in the Parkside Auditorium. This Parkside High School Band and Choral Concert will feature old classics such as Sleigh Ride, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Marshmallow World and Cold of Winter. In addition, there will also be a special visit from a holiday favorite! Admission is free with donation of one canned good per each guest for the Maryland Food Bank. This year we will hold a silent audition on decorated Christmas trees, sponsored by the Parkside Student Government Association. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Bless Our Children campaign. Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, Dec. 13

Fruitland Primary invites you to soak in the sun of Piñataville in our musical, The Holly Jolly Pirates of Piñataville! There will be two shows, both at 6 p.m. in the Fruitland Primary Cafeteria, on Tuesday, Dec. 12, and Wednesday, Dec. 13. The People of Piñataville have created many piñatas for their big fiesta, and during the night, a band of pirates arrive at the island and steal some of the piñatas and candy. Will the pirates get away with their stolen piñatas, or will the People of Piñataville catch them red handed? You have to travel to Piñataville to find out! FPS 1st-Grade students will perform the music of the musical, while a select group of 2nd-Graders perform the play of the musical. Free public event. 410-677-5171

 

Wednesday, Dec. 13

North Salisbury Elementary 1st-Graders will give a concert at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 entitled “Snowmen at Night,” based on the popular storybook by Caralyn Buehner. Come watch as students sing, dance and act out what snowmen do as we sleep at night. All are invited, and admission is free. In the NSS multipurpose room. 410-677-5807

The 2nd-grade students of Wonderful Willards Elementary will perform “Winter Wishes” on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. in the school cafetorium. This arts-integrated program focuses on meaningful wishes during this winter season. For more information please contact Patty Brown, 410-251-2962.

Northwestern Elementary School’s 1st- and 2nd-graders will present “Holiday Wishes” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the school. Students will perform songs about wishes kids have at this festive time of year, including everything from snow and peace on earth to their two front teeth! Free. 410-677-5808

Thursday, Dec. 14

Glen Avenue Elementary’s 3rd-grade gators are putting on our Holiday Program, “December Around the World!” The program will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 at the school. Students will be performing in three different languages and spotlighting cultures from Mexico, England, Jerusalem, Africa, and Haiti. 410-677-5806

The Pittsville Middle School Band Holiday Concert will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 in the Parkside High School Auditorium. The 6th-grade band, 7th- and 8th-grade combined band, and marching band will all perform a delightful program of some holiday favorites as well as interesting arrangements of seasonal music sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit. The James M. Bennett High School Symphonic and Concert Bands, under the direction of Mr. Douglas L. Miles; will present their Annual Holiday Band Concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 in the JMB Auditorium.  The Concert Band will perform first, playing holiday favorites including Winter Wonderland and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. The JMB Symphonic Band will perform second, with selections including Gesu Bambino arranged by Pietro A Yon, and a contemporary version of the carol “O Holy Night” titled African Holy Night, featuring the percussion section.  The Bennett Band will also play the Leroy Anderson classic Sleigh Ride and their parade song Sounds of Christmas, a medley of Good King Wenceslas and O Come, All Ye Faithful. Wicomico High School will present a Winter Spectacular Concert on Thursday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Wicomico High School Auditorium. The program will include performances by the Intermediate Band, Symphonic Band, Intermediate Choir and Concert Choir, as well as combined selections featuring all the performing music students of WiHi. The Westside Intermediate Winter Assembly will take place at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18 in the school auditorium. Parents are cordially invited to attend the assembly with the 5th-grade classes. The band will play traditional favorites including Beethoven’s Ode to Joy. Free. 410-677-5118
