Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lillian Lowery, state and local elected officials, Wicomico County Board of Education members, school system representatives and the principal of Bennett Middle School toss dirt with their shovels to officially break ground on the new Bennett Middle School in Fruitland Friday, April 19. Site work has begun, and the anticipated opening of the new school is August 2015.
