UPDATED A classroom wing at Pemberton Elementary was cleared Wednesday afternoon after three kindergarten students in a kindergarten classroom who experienced asthma-like symptoms were transported for medical evaluation. The kindergarten teacher also reported feeling symptoms, but now seems to feel fine. All of B wing, where the classroom is located, was cleared, with students and staff relocated to the gymnasium. The Salisbury Fire Department and Facility Services staff responded to the school to evaluate the situation, and have found no problems with the building. Facility Services staff will do extensive cleaning in the classroom and other rooms used by that kindergarten class prior to students returning Thursday. A total of eight students in a kindergarten class had fevers today (including the three students taken for medical attention), and parents/guardians are urged to keep an eye on their children's health. Kindergarten parents/guardians were informed by SchoolMessenger call, and students were provided with an explanatory letter to take home at dismissal. A SchoolMessenger call will be made soon to all Pemberton families.   READ MORE...
